BUILDING HISTORY
A Historic Venue in the Heart of Downtown Houston
When Houston was founded in 1836, the intersection of Congress and Main served as the city’s central hub, shaping the development of downtown. Nestled within this historic district, our venue has a story as rich as the city itself.
Originally an alleyway between two buildings, a ceiling was added in 1882, transforming the space into The Original Casino Saloon. Since then, 924 Congress Street has remained a bar for most of its existence—except for a brief pause during Prohibition. Legend even has it that a resident ghost still lingers.
Step inside and experience Houston’s history firsthand. The venue showcases century-old exposed brick, original gas light fixtures, and a beautifully preserved barrel-vaulted ceiling, all echoing the charm of the 19th century.
More than just a venue, our space is a testament to Houston’s enduring spirit. Whether you're here to celebrate, collaborate, or support a cause, every event contributes to a stronger, more vibrant community. Join us in making Houston a healthier, happier, and more creative place to live.
